Large Circular HVAC Ductwork for a Fashion Retail Complex – Kuwait

Fashion Retail Complex HVAC — Large Circular Duct System, Kuwait

Project: Engineering and installation of a large-scale circular duct HVAC network for a fashion and apparel retail complex with an exposed industrial-chic ceiling.

Project Overview

A flagship retail project — a fashion and apparel complex with an open industrial-chic interior featuring an exposed ceiling, track lighting and fitting rooms. Cyberia engineered and installed a large-scale circular duct HVAC network delivering consistent, comfortable cooling across the entire shopping floor while integrating seamlessly with the venue's high-end retail aesthetic. A customer who is thermally comfortable stays longer, tries more, and comes back.

Scope of Work

  • Full HVAC design for a large open-plan retail environment with varying ceiling heights and structural grid constraints.
  • Supply and installation of large-diameter (400–600mm) circular supply air ducts in a coordinated grey tone, running the full length and width of the retail floor.
  • Branch duct connections to circular supply diffusers positioned throughout the sales floor for uniform multi-zone cooling.
  • Dedicated independent duct connections serving fitting room zones for consistent comfort in enclosed, high-occupancy areas.
  • Precise coordination of duct routing with the lighting track grid, fire sprinkler system, and CCTV infrastructure — zero clashes.
  • Return air grilles placed along walls and columns, cleanly integrated into the retail environment.
  • Full system commissioning, air balancing and thermal performance testing.
  • Thermal Comfort Drives Retail Performance
  • Kuwait's retail sector is intensely competitive, and customer dwell time is directly linked to comfort. Temperature and air quality are among the top factors influencing how long a customer stays in a fashion store — particularly in the Kuwaiti summer. Cyberia's work at this complex was not just about moving air — it was about engineering a commercial advantage for our client. Every duct position, every diffuser location, and every airflow rate was chosen to maximise the shopping experience.
